Meet Dr. Danielle Kofler

Dr. Danielle Kofler is a licensed clinical psychologist who is registered with the College of Psychologists of Ontario. She provides individual therapy and psychodiagnostic assessment to adolescents (14+) and adults.

 

Dr. Kofler completed her MA and PhD degrees in Clinical and Counselling Psychology at OISE, University of Toronto. She also completed a BSc (Hons) in Health Studies at the University of Waterloo.

 

Throughout her clinical training, Dr. Kofler has had the privilege of training and working in a variety of hospital, community, post-secondary campuses and private practice settings, including: Toronto Psychology & Wellness Group; Centre for Mental Health and Addiction (CAMH) in their Complex Care and Recovery (Psychosis) Program and Work Stress & Health Program; Princess Margaret Care Centre; Toronto Western Hospital's Bariatric Surgery Program; York University.

In addition to her private practice, Dr. Kofler is also the Training Lead and a clinical psychologist at Toronto Psychology & Wellness Group.

Individual Psychotherapy

I offer individual therapy to adolescents (14+) and adults. Treatment plans will be developed collaboratively and will depend on presenting issues and client goals.

My areas of expertise include:

  • Trauma and PTSD

  • Disordered eating (including restricting, bingeing and/or purging, yo-yo diets, body and bariatric surgery preparation and recovery)

  • Substance use (e.g., cannabis, alcohol, hallucinogens, opioids); I practice within a harm-reduction approach

  • General mood and anxiety difficulties, including depression, panic, social anxiety, and OCD

 

I am trained in the following modalities:

  • Cognitive Behaviour Therapy

  • Dialectical Behaviour Therapy

  • Cognitive Processing Therapy

  • Mindfulness approaches

Psychodiagnostic Assessment

I provide psychological assessments to assist in diagnostic clarification and treatment planning for a variety of mental health conditions, such as:

  • Mood and anxiety disorder

  • Eating disorders

  • Trauma and PTSD

  • Personality disorders 

  • ADHD

I also provide career counselling assessment and guidance.

Consultation

I offer training and consultation services to individuals and organizations seeking to enhance their knowledge of mental health and wellbeing.

FAQ

What are the fees?

Dr. Kofler's fees fall within the recommendations outlined by the Ontario Psychological Association. Fees vary depending on the nature of the service. The preferred payment methods are Interac e-Transfer (danielle@drkofler.com) or credit card. Payment is expected the same day as appointments occur. You will be issued a receipt for services paid, which you can submit to your private insurance and/or save for tax purposes.

What is your approach?

Dr. Kofler’s therapeutic approach is integrative in nature and draws from a variety of evidence-based modalities in order to best fit her clients' needs. She utilizes techniques from Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavioural Therapy (DBT), Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT), Motivational Interviewing (MI), and mindfulness-based approaches. She believes that a strong therapeutic relationship is the foundation for clients’ growth and change and that the journey to change begins by providing an atmosphere of empathy, trust, and support.
